Q. Do you do free estimates?

A. Yes, give us a call and we can arrange a free estimate at a time that suits you.


Q. Can I get a price over the phone?

A. No, we need to physically see the job in hand and assess what options you have.


Q. Do I need to be in when you call out?

A. Yes, ideally the property owner (the person who is going to pay for the work) should be present so we can discuss your options. In certain circumstances an adult family member, employee or friend will be sufficient.


Q. Will I have to wait in all day to be seen?

A. Once we arrange a date we will give you a time within the hour - say between 1pm-2pm.


Q. How long will it take to measure up the job?

A. Depending on the size of the project, this normally takes between 10 and 20 minutes.


Q. How long will it take to recieve my price?

A. Once we have measured up we will either give you a detailed price instantly or within 24 hours.
Q. How soon can you start the job?

A. Once we get the go-ahead a start date will be decided between us and the customer, normally within 2 weeks. Although we can be onsite the next day if your job is an emergency repair.


Q. What will happen with any rubbish from job?

A. We will take care of any rubbish and ensure that this is removed and disposed of.


Q. When do I pay for job?

A. Depending on the size of the job you could pay a deposit, then full payment will be made on completion.


Q. Do you carry out insurance work?

A. Yes, we can give you a price for insurance (storm damage).

 
Q. My roof is leaking - what should I do?

A. Give us a call and we can recommend what to do next.


Q. Our roof is very awkward and difficult to get to, do you use scaffolding?

A. Yes we have our own and we work closely with local scaffolders. We take care of everything when it comes to your roof!

Competent Roofer
CompetentRoofer is the Government-licenced Competent Person Scheme that allows professional roofing contractors to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work complies with Building Regulations within England and Wales. The scheme encompasses all roofing types for domestic and commercial properties.If 50% or more of your roof needs to be replaced, then under the Building Regulations, your Local Authority needs to be notified a minimum of 48 hours before work commences. If you don’t then you risk a fine of up to £5,000, plus the cost of putting the work right if it isn’t up to the required standards.

By using a CompetentRoofer member, property owners will save not only time and money but will have the added reassurance that the work carried out meets the exacting standards of the Building Regulations.

Reliability – CompetentRoofer members are professional contractors who are thoroughly audited and inspected prior to acceptance and undergo regular inspections thereafter

Reassurance – A ten year insurance-backed guarantee is included with notification of roof refurbishment works up to a value of £50,000 where the building height is four storeys or less (also available for commercial/industrial works).
National Federation of Roofing Contractors
The NFRC is the largest and most influential roofing trade association in the UK, promoting quality contractors and quality products, ensuring that its members are at the forefront of all roofing developments.
 
NFRC actively ensures that all members offer high standards of workmanship and sound business practice through a strict code of practice and vetting procedure, including site inspections and adhering to the Government endorsed standards. The Federation also offers training services, technical advice, and represents member interests to the wider construction industry and Government.
