A. Armstrong Roofing Contractors are experts when it comes to new roof coverings. We have been renewing roofs in the North East for over 40 years. Our experience, knowledge of roofing products, building regulations and good practice has given us the ability to repair and renew almost any failed roof.

Your local Authority needs to be notified a minimum of 5 days before work commences. By taking care of that, we can prevent a fine of up to £5,000.

Roof Replacement

Once we check your roof structure we will do the following:

Establish the best covering for your property and budget.
Design your new roof, which will demand as little maintenance as possible.
Provide you with a fixed price (no add-ons) and full specification of the project.

What happens next once you go-ahead?

1. We both sign the contract / quotation provided.

2. You pay 25% deposit, this gets you firmly in the fitting queue.

3. We will notify the relevant local authorities 7 - 14 days before work commences.

4. A suitable start date will be arranged for work to start.
5. All work will be carried out in accordance with current building regulations and all workmanship will be inspected by Adam on completion, final payment is made (75% of the total).

6. Your handover pack will include; building control certificate, A.Armstrong Roofing Contractors 10 year guarantee against failures due to defective workmanship or materials, 10 year insurance warranty certificate which includes breach of building regulations and contractor insolvency through government scheme.

Natural slating

A.Armstrong Roofing Est.1976 are proud installers of natural roof slate, the greatest roofing material found to date. Natural slate has a low water absorption index of less than 0.4% making the material waterproof. In fact, this Organic material requires only minimal processing, has the lowest embodied energy of all the roofing materials. Natural roof slate is beautiful, durable and can last hundreds of years.
Welsh natural slate

The lifetime of a building begins with a choice of materials and for hundreds of years, architects and designers have been inspired by the natural beauty of slate. Welsh slate roofing is extracted from some of the worlds finest deposits. Formed up to 590 million years ago, each piece of slate has its own unique fingerprint that reflects the power and presence of the landscapes from which it was hewn. The quality of Welsh slate roofing is such that even after 100 years of use at least 50% of Welsh slate is typically re-used. Spanish natural slate
