Chimney Repairs

A.Armstrong Roofing Est.1976 are experts when it comes to external chimney repairs.

Whether your chimney has been damaged by weather or simply age, our services cover all repairs, including; water ingress around or in chimney, re-building and reducing, capping off, re-pointing, lead flashing repairs, bird control, flaunching around pots/cowls or pot/cowl replacement. Our customer promise is to produce affordable chimney stack repairs to building regulation. All repairs are guaranteed for 10 years against failures due to defective workmanship or materials.
Chimney pots, cowls & bird control

Your chimney structure provides ventilation to release hot gases and smoke from your fireplace to the outside atmosphere. A chimney pot is placed on top of the chimney to expand the length of the chimney inexpensively, and to improve the chimney's draft. A chimney cowl is placed on top of the chimney pot to prevent birds and other animals from nesting in the chimney. They often feature a rain guard to prevent rain or snow from going down the chimney. A metal wire mesh is often used as a spark arrestor to minimise burning debris from rising out of the chimney and making it onto the roof. An aluminium cowl can be used instead of a clay pot for gas fires.
